August is so summer, but it is also slowly dipping its toe into fall. So my advice: let's squeak out all we can out of the last sunny, steamy summer month of the year. Starting with these 10 recipes:

• Celebrate with Cake! Whether for a birthday (hi Leos!🦁) or just because, this rich chocolate sheet cake with the easiest, dreamiest chocolate frosting should be your go-to.
• Make Zucchini 3 Ways: Is it even summer if we're not futzing with zucchini? Make the relish, bake the bread and indulge in the double chocolate muffins!
• Bake Scones With Fresh Berries: My favorite this summer are the lemon blueberry scones. But you can also try Blackberry, Raspberry, Strawberry, Mixed Berry...
• A BBQ Favorite: A boozy margarita cupcake is the perfect way to punctuate the end of summer.
• A Summer Must-Bake: This mixed berry crumble that is SUPERB with cherries (do it), and you won't be able to get enough of it because it's that good. I mean it.
• The Other Summer Must Bake: S'mores anything always needs to be woven into these toasty months. This year, I keep reaching for these easy S'more Cookie Bars. Your friends and family will love you for them!
• *THE* Hottest Cookie On The Site! By far the most-baked cookie on DH this summer is this Soft & Chewy (and fabulous) Peanut Butter Cookie. If you haven't made it yet, THE TIME IS NOW!

I finished The Tell, and I cried multiple times. It's a fast-paced read that I read in 24 hours. Browse a quick review to make sure you're mentally up for it. It's a story of resilience, but I'm also haunted by it.

Enjoy everything that summer has to offer this month. Say yes to the coffee date, the early morning walk, borrowing the book from a friend or just sleeping in!
