β Happy Wednesday Reader! I received several questions about this Chocolate Rye Cookie, and I wanted to address them asap! The first question was about the grams/cups of the rye flour and the second was regarding the salt quantity in the cookie dough. This recipe was originally posted in 2017 and I was curious if I would still love it as much as when I first posted it. The answer is a resounding YES!!! This cookie is indeed fantastic and the recipe needed zero edits. Both the rye and salt quantities are great. Here's what you can expect from this cookie: a chewy, soft texture that is, frankly, fabulous. This cookie has big chocolate flavor that the earthy rye flour does a nice job of tempering just enough. The pops of chewy dried cherries are the perfect contrast in taste and texture. You're going to love it. SOME RECIPE NOTES:
Because of surgery, I'm running a bit behind in holiday recipe testing. The benefit of this is that I would love to hear your requests! I will do the 12 Days of Cookies again starting on December 1. I'd love any cookie requests, holiday dessert requests...heck, send me your January requests!! Big hugs to you!
PS Older recipes like this don't have starred reviews because that wasn't available on my site until the past several years (and some recipes get buried!). If you do make & love these cookies, I hope you'll leave a review. This helps other bakers find my recipes. Thank you for being here! π |

Hi Reader! Yesterday was National Chocolate Day, which is another reason (excuse) to eat more chocolate! π₯³ I wanted to shine a light on some of my favorite chocolate treats, starting with this glorious Chocolate Brownie Meringue Cake! It's everything you love about brownies: rich, deep chocolate flavor with that decadent (dreamy!) fudgy texture. This meringue cake has the added bonus of a crispy, chocolate meringue top that crinkles and cracks and as it cools. It's perfect on its own, and...
