Best of April! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Hi Reader!

It's been a busy month at DisplacedHousewife! We have new recipes (Malted Chocolate Chip Cookies (please make these stat), Bakery-Style Blackberry-Lime Streusel Muffins, How to Make My Favorite Egg Wash and a Bright & Sunny Lemon Glaze for Cakes, Scones, Cookies & More!). Thanks for loving them!

We also updated this Raspberry Lemon Loaf (that is insane) and these Raspberry Scones that I swear are the best I've ever had!!

Your most-baked recipes are, drumroll, the Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookie (#1 on the site and #1 on Google), Soft & Chewy Crinkle Peanut Butter Cookies, The Perfect Brownies (no exaggeration) and the Raspberry Streusel Muffins that inspired the blackberry ones!

Scroll below to see all of the recipe photos.

I hope you are well, rested and enjoying the little things like sunny days, juicy berries, long walks and this 80s playlist (links to Spotify).

Cheers and big hugs to you!

Brown Butter Malted Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies are ALL THE THINGS. Brown butter! Dark brown sugar! Mega vanilla! Malted milk powder! They're chewy and gooey and crispy around the edges, and I have a stash of dough balls frozen and I'm eating them nightly. You should do the same!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I just took these cookies out of the oven and they smell rich, buttery and sweet. They taste amazing. They are crisp on the outside and gooey on the inside. Often when I make cookies with brown butter the cookies can be greasy or you have to chill them. No need to chill these cookies and they are not greasy like others I’ve tried. These are on the rotation in my kitchen. YUMMY cookies!

These were yummy with Easter breakfast! (...) Definitely a winner!

My Favorite, Go-To Egg Wash for Scones & Pies

The one I use for all of my scones and that perfectly bronzes up my pies. I hope you'll check it out!

Bright, Sunny & Fabulous Lemon Glaze

Ready in five minutes, this simple lemon glaze is perfect for covering scones (of course), as well as my favorite Lemon Olive Oil Cake and Sugar Cookies!

Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookies

The #1 cookie on the site last year is holding strong into Q2! Making the hard caramel is super easy, so don't be deterred by this extra step (they're worth it).

Soft & Chewy Crinkle Peanut Butter Cookies

I'm loving that you're loving this cookie as much as I do! And I'm also loving that no one has complained about the zero hatch-marks on this cookie! I love the crinkly, soft and chewy texture of this cookie. So many peanut butter cookies can be dense and this baby is not!

Raspberry Streusel Muffins

I made these for Easter, along with this Sour Cream Coffee Cake, and they were both hits! Both are solid brunch/breakfast options!

The Perfect Brownie Recipe (no cap)

Your search for the perfect brownie recipe is over. These brownies are fantabulous. They're crinkly, fudgy, shiny and they turn out perfect every single time. I don't know what else we could want in life (in a bar cookie).

Light & Fluffy Raspberry Lemon Loaf

It was so much fun to update this blog post and take all of the photos! I can confirm that this cake is indeed as delicious as it looks. I also want to note that I'm aiming for shorter blog posts...my goal is to always make your experience the best it can be!

Tender Raspberry Cream Scones (heaven)

It's been a while since I made these beauties and I fell in love with them all over again. Make them!!! They are moist, tender and taste just as delicious the next day (and the day after).

Good afternoon Reader! I am a muffin baker through and through. I feel about muffins the same way I do about scones...and cookies...and so many other delicious things we bake. When done right they're an effortless way to elevate your mornings whilst hopefully padding around the kitchen still in your pjs and fluffy socks. Last spring Stella took me to Cafe Solstice in Seattle and we ate the yummiest Blackberry Streusel Muffins. I'm talking A++. I promptly flew home and made these Raspberry...

Hi Reader! I am extremely fussy when it comes to scones. They have to be moist, flavorful and taste just as great the next day. I've been on a bit of a bakery bender this year, visiting them wherever I go. If you live on the central coast of California, I cannot recommend the croissants at Bread Bike in San Luis Obispo enough. Truly transcendent. Perfection. The individual Chicken Pot Pies from Macrina Bakery in Seattle? I crave them (and made my own version if we're interested πŸ‘€). The...

Good afternoon Reader! Happy Friday! If I don't love the way a recipe looks then I typically don't promote it much...which was the case with this Raspberry Lemon Loaf Cake. So I updated the photos and the entire blog post and I'm in love with it all over again! As you can see from the photos, the crumb is light, fluffy and perfectly moist. It's loaded with fresh raspberries and lemon zest, and then covered in a lemony lemon glaze. In a word, perfect. I made some minor edits to the recipe: a...
